As well as the third person style it was done in it lacked the depth and emotion a book should have, like if it were done in first person. How am I supposed to connect with that? The over-top telling was so annoying. I was just told what had happened on their date. ![]() This paragraph is just an example from Shanna and Alex's "date." As a reader, I didn't even get to experience the fucking date with them. She was actually hungry, even after consuming the fast-food burger they'd grabbed before the movie." They ordered a couple of plates of appetizers to eat during the entertainment. ![]() "After the movie, he took her to a comedy club, catching the late show. Shanna was already thinking of marrying Alex only about 6-7% into the book, when they had close to no interaction with each other. It was fast paced and held no descriptive or emotive detailing. There was so much "telling" and no "showing" in this book. And just to clarify, I added the 1 star to my rating, but in truth I rate it a big fat 0. This book is not even worth 1 star let alone 5. ![]() I don't know what all those other people were reading, but clearly not the same crap I was. I'm so pissed I wasted my money on this shit. I am so angry! I paid almost $4 for this because just about every review I read was positive and gushing. ![]() |
